Sahale Arm via Cascade Pass • 2 day ascent

Sahale Peak stands at the head of Cascade Pass and the impressive Stehekin Valley. The Sahale Arm via Cascade pass is an excellent climb for beginner climbers. The route requires less time and is less technical than the Quien Sabe Glacier approach. From high camp we climb the Sahale Glacier to the base of the summit pyramid. There is a short rock scramble (class 3) to the 8,680-foot summit. The views from the summit are amazing with a 360-degree panorama of the Cascade Range. On the descent we rappel and down climb to the glacier. We also have of option of making a sunset summit climb on day one, descending from the summit pyramid as the sunsets over the North Cascades, returning to overnight at camp. Sahale route map

Quien Sabe Glacier via Boston Basin • 3 day ascent

Sahale Peak climb presents a moderate challenge and is situated among other classic peaks such as Forbidden Peak, Sharkfin Tower and Boston Peak. The ascent climbs the steep Quien Sabe Glacier to the Boston Sahale Col and traverses the final exposed rock and snow ridge to the summit. We have the option of descending the route or traversing the peak to Sahale Arm and descending via Cascade Pass. On the approach we climb steeply through heavy timber crossing a number of small streams which eventually give way to the beautiful alpine basin known as Boston Basin. Our professional guides will introduce and teach you the skills necessary to make a safe and successful climb.
